Director Rebecca Ryan said the program developed for the live performance gave the audience the opportunity to see the breadth of musical and theatrical opportunities available at the conservatorium.
Daisy King opened the showcase with a poetry recital inviting the audience to smile and enjoy the show.
“There was a diverse range of music at the showcase, from Dire Straits to Brahms, Sultans of Swing to Symphony No. 2,” Ms Ryan said.
“Students from the Woodwind Studio took the audience’s breathe away as they showcased their developing skills on flute and clarinet.”
In addition to the showcase, a presentation was made to teacher Edwina Tolhurst who has handed the string studio to new teacher Emily Maslen. Edwina will continue to teach a small number of students in the conservatorium.
The teachers presented awards to one student from each studio who has shown outstanding commitment to their musical studies in 2017.
