Aidan King couldn’t have bowled tighter with 2-0 from four overs while wicket-keeper Cley Durrant clocked up three dismissals behind the stumps before swapping the gloves for the ball.
Cley (2-5) picked up two wickets in two balls but just missed out on a hat-trick.
Adam Veli-Gold (2-12), Flynn Cameron (2-21) were also integral in restricting Inverell to 98.
“I reckon they were unreal in the field,” Gunnedah coach Matt Durrant said.
“They fielded and bowled great. Our batting let us down a little bit in the end but all in all, the boys had a great day.
“Inverell were just too strong in the end.”
Aidan (11) and Peter McCormack (17) put on a 41-run opening partnership while Flynn scored eight but Gunnedah wasn’t able to go on with the job as the side finished on 66.
The under 16s won their game after Inverell forfeited.
