While Gunnedah went down by six wickets to Inverell on Sunday, the side has come along in leaps and bounds, coach Bob Price said.
“Although we got beaten, the kids were impressed with how they performed,” Price said.
“We made 94 and with a couple more runs, we might have got them.
“It was an improvement on the last couple of weeks. We got 42 against Narrabri so we’re were improving every week. They’re building into a really good little team. They get along and play well together.”
Gunnedah batted first and made 9-94.
The big-hitting Jayden Winsor (22) topped the scoring while Oliver Thomas (18) and Henry Johns (12) made handy contributions to the score.
Inverell lost four wickets chasing the runs as Thomas (1-11), Jacob Price (1-16), Claire McGuirk (1-21) and Carter McIlveen (1-10) hit the mark. Price also lauded Angus Johns who made the step up from the under 12s for the under 14s game.
Gunnedah’s next match will be away against Armidale on December 10.
