Outfitted in their finest race day attire with a variety of hats and fascinators, the evening was a great success, with a number of pre-race sweeps drawn for the big day.
Judy Gallagher and June Carter were awarded prizes for prettiest and most innovative hats.
Outgoing zone councillor Beryl Pike was congratulated on her election to the role of national councillor, with President Margaret Stevens thanking her for her support.
Members voted to donate $1000 to The Smith Family’s 2017 Christmas appeal. Last year VIEW Clubs across Australia contributed $62,970 to the appeal.
Invitations have been received to VIEW Christmas celebrations in Tamworth and Coonabarabran as well as Gunnedah Day VIEW Club’s festive gathering on November 24.
Gunnedah Evening VIEW Club members will celebrate Christmas at the last meeting for the year on December 6. The theme is red and green with a fun night of bingo and gift giving.
