Jats Bar Adios Acres reigned supreme when the Northern Branch of the Australian Stock Horse Society staged their annual show at the Gunnedah Showgrounds on the weekend.

Ridden by Katie deJong the Manilla stallion won both the champion hack and champion working, and was the supreme ridden and high point horse of the show.
The supreme led horse was Rosebrook Primrose shown by Lorretta Lawson.
The youth and challenge events were well supported and saw Gunnedah’s Rebecca Wilson, riding Doongara Power N Rose, dominate the junior classes for riders under 13-years-old.
Wilson won the champion junior hack and champion junior working in addition to the junior challenge.
Brother Tom also had a successful show. Riding Playmore Rock N Roll he won reserve champion juvenile rider, champion juvenile hack and reserve champion working, before taking out the juvenile challenge and finishing second in the open challenge.
Supreme youth working horse was Wundarra Top Secret ridden by Gunnedah’s Teigan Meyers.
The final show for the season for the Northern Branch, riders travelled from the Hunter Valley and New England to compete, with numbers up on previous years branch president Barry Moore reported.
“It’s the fifth year in a row we’ve held it in Gunnedah,” Moore said.
“We’ve just been trying to build it up over here in Gunnedah.”
He accredited the growth to a strong committee and said they also had very good sponsorship for the event.
