Mr Anderson is pushing for a new sheltered walkway between the police station and courthouse.
But next on Mr Anderson’s agenda is upgrading the walkway between the police station and the courthouse – and he’s hoping a ministerial visit in the coming weeks can help make it happen.
“We’re looking at upgrading the back end that will connect the police station and courthouse for prisoners,” Mr Anderson said.
“Part of providing a safe environment is also transporting prisoners from the police station to the courthouse.”
Mr Anderson will be “impressing upon” police minister Troy Grant the importance of the upgrade when he visits the region in the coming weeks.
