In 2016 the grow and mow team supported breast cancer awareness month by donning pink shirts throughout the month of October.
This time around the team of Michael Cooke, Craig Moses, James Russell and Luke Ibster will be growing facial hair to get behind Movember and raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s health.
“Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way,” Mr Cooke said.
“We all know somebody who has overcome it or is battling it at the moment and to me it is important to raise awareness.”
Team member Craig Moses said it was very important to help raise awareness of issues men are facing.
“It is very important,” Mr Moses said.
“I’m always down for anything that can help raise awareness for this kind of thing.”
Mr Cooke said Movember was not restricted to just men.
“This is year we are promoting the mo-sisters,” he said.
“Wives, girlfriends, aunties and mums can all get involved and not grow a mustache but show some support.”
The month will culminate with a ‘shave off ’ ceremony sponsored by Men’s Retreat Gunnedah at the Court House Hotel.
