Gunnedah Discount Drug Store in association with National Hearing Care will be offering free hearing checks on October 25.
The 15 minute test is a non-invasive listening test that uses headphones and is conducted by a qualified National Hearing Care expert.
Pharmacist and National Professional Services Manager, Stephenie Shea said that hearing loss was becoming a large scale problem.
“Hearing loss is the second most common health condition Australians suffer from, after musculoskeletal disease,” Ms Shea said.
“Hearing loss and impairment can occur at any age. However, as we get older, the incidence for hearing loss increases with age, affecting over half of Australians aged 60 years and over”.
Ms Shea also said that the National Hearing Care experts could advise people on what to do next.
“Qualified hearing experts can offer patients advice on next steps, any required technology and ongoing maintenance tips to help improve hearing,” she said.
Gunnedah Discount Drug Store will be holding the free clinic on Wednesday October 25.
