Participants were able to try their hand at events like long jump and sprinting at the first of two come and try days hosted by the club.
Kids from the age of 4 to 15 joined in the fun and little athletics club member Ben Sawyer said everybody who attended enjoyed the event.
“Everybody had a ball,” Sawyer said.
“We had a lot of new kids attend which is always nice, but we are always looking for more.
“Little athletics is a fun program that really allows the kids and their families a chance to spend time together and improve their skills.”
Sawyer said the club had a variety of age groups and kids would get to sample a variety of different events at the upcoming come and try day.
“We have got age groups spanning from Tiny Tots to Teens and we will be trying all sorts of stuff like, high jump, running, shot put and discuss,” he said.
The next Gunnedah little athletics come and try day will be at Wolseley Oval from 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 4 and Sawyer hopes to see more new faces at the event.
“Hopefully we can get some more kids along, there will be a sausage sizzle afterward and hopefully we can set up a fun season for everyone,” he said.
The first meeting of the little athletics season is on October 11.
