Playing in the Gunnedah District Soccer 10/11/12s age group, Jayln scored 11 goals in the opening match of the year before jumping up into the 13/14/15s division.
Jayln’s latest achievement was playing for the North West PSSA side at Inverell in mid-August.
The side played seven games across three days and finished 12th out of 14 teams after taking on a host of tough teams.
The results didn’t bother Jayln, though. He was just happy to be out on the pitch playing.
“It was good. Everyone came together really well,” Jayln said of the North West side.
Jalyn can play any position on the field but prefers to be in the midfield just like his favourite player Eden Hazard.
Along with his natural talent, a strong work ethic has helped the Gunnedah South Public School student along.
That hard work saw Jalyn captain his school side and he now aims to gain selection in the NIAS squad.
