Chamber president Mike Broekman said home hosting was the “next frontier” of the field days, which brings more than 100,000 visitors to the region.
“For the service sector, AgQuip is a wonderful time of year with motels, apartments booked out years in advance,” Mr Broekman said.
“Home hosting is really, really important to the business sector.”
While more than 3000 exhibitors will showcase at the country's largest agricultural field days from August 22, local retailers can often feel the pinch.
“Unfortunately for smaller retailers in town it can be a quiet time as people (go to AgQuip) to see what’s out there,” Mr Broekman said.
“It’s important to shop local. AgQuip has been fantastic for the Gunnedah economy for many years and everyone looks forward to this time of year.”
