Seventeen-year-old Georgia is the daughter of Gina and Graeme Carrigan, of Boggabri and a student at Calrossy Anglican School in Tamworth.
Georgia hopes to complete a degree in business law, with a long-term goal of working in water fund investments.
She entered the showgirl competition as it is important to her that rural community events are supported by the younger generation.
Georgia will join fellow competitors Haylee Murrell (junior) and Sophie Clift (senior) at a judging ceremony on Friday night at the art and photography pavilion, after participating in interviews throughout the day.
The showgirl entrants are required to participate in a variety of sashing events at the show on Saturday and the grand parade.
