The annual event will be held in the Art and Photography Pavilion in the showground with plenty of prizes up for grabs.
The sections include painting, drawing, print-making, sculpture, creative pottery, novice, under 18 years, and “our place” (any medium which reflect a sense of “belonging”). Artists will also compete for grand champion and the people’s choice award.
Art convenor Maree Kelly said there were 270 entries this year, with strong entries in the novice and under 18 years sections. Last year, artist Brad White claimed the grand champion title with an unnamed work.
The winners of the photography section will also be announced during the evening. Photography convenor Chris Burgess said entries were up from last year, with around 800 entries judged on Tuesday.
Entry for the exhibition is $10, which includes nibblies and drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or at the show office between 9am and 5pm every day.
