The Chatsworth Island couples live “just down the road” from each other in the cane-growing region of northern NSW near Yamba. Both are regulars at the Gunnedah Country Music Muster.
Norm and Sue Causley have attended the last three years and said Gunnedah’s mild March weather offered a pleasant alternative from the hot January heat of Tamworth’s festival.
Plus, there’s a great crew here too.
“There’s some terrific people here,” Norm said. “And top-class entertainment.”
Then there is the regular bus tour hosted by musician and muster aficionado, Rex Baldwin.
“We wouldn’t miss it for quids,” Norm’s mate, Darrell Armstrong said. “The knowledge he has… you learn a lot.”
Both couples recently retired from cane farming and now have the opportunity to spend more time travelling with onward trips planned to the Hartwood property near Tambar Springs for more country music.
2017 Gunnedah Country Music Muster program:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – two sessions 10am-12pm and 2-4pm.
