The Greyhound Breeders Owners and Trainers Association chairman and Gunnedah racing club president was delighted by news his industry now had a future.
“It’s a great achievement for everyone,” Mr Rose said.
“It has been a lot of hard work but it’s finally paid off.
“The government acknowledged it got it wrong.”
The first order of business was to ensure the greyhound industry reforms met government expectations.
“Greyhound Racing NSW will have to be revamped,” he said. “The industry will be held accountable.
“But we can now work toward improving the greyhound industry through stricter breeding and regulation.”
In a press conference earlier today, Premier Mike Baird said government “got it wrong”.
He acknowledged the greyhound industry had a “deep desire to reform” and “was desperate to change”.
