Entries for the fRETfEST run competition close on Friday December 15, with the winner to be announced on Saturday January 6.
The winner will take a home a brand new acoustic guitar and along with the runners-up will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
“There’s plenty to encourage entrants, Mr Buchan said.
“For example, last year’s winner, 16 year-old, Molly Millington, is now getting attention from music industry professionals and the inaugural winner, 17 year-old, Harry Marshall, got signed to The A&R Department.
“There seems to be a lineage of sorts, happening (with the contest winners) and that’s a good thing.”
The Regional Song Contest is open to all ages, with the winners performing in a two hour showcase on the Fanzone Stage at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival on January 27.
