Albion batsman James Mack believes that the side’s two-day clash against Court House this round will provide them with a “proper feel” for where they are form wise.

The Wolseley Park encounter, starting Saturday, will be the first clash between the sides since Court House ended Albion’s quest for a premiership hat-trick in last season’s grand final.
The side’s scheduled first-round clash was washed out, with both sides coming off a partial wash-out last round in which Albion collected first innings points against Kookaburras and Court House drew with Mornington.
Mack said: “Obviously they’ll be the toughest side we’ve played this year … We’re looking forward to seeing where we’re really at as a side.”
He added: “Everything’s been pretty good so far. But as I said, we’ll get a proper feel for it this weekend and next weekend coming up against a Court House side who should be a little stronger than the sides we’ve played so far.”
Mack said Albion had been “lucky” this season, given that their top order had batted so well – including himself – with the middle order called on in “only one or two” games.
“That’s been pleasing,” he said, adding: “We’ve bowled well. Having Jenko [Brad Jenkinson] and Luke Ryan opening the bowling and being really good with the new ball. Will Maggs, a young leg-spinner, he’s been bowling well when he’s got the ball. That’s been promising.”
Teenager Maggs was promoted to make his first-grade debut this season after Albion off-spinner Izaak Merlehan moved to Sydney. In four matches, Maggs has taken nine wickets at an average of 7.8 and a strike rate of 13.8.
He has best figures of 4-17.
