The How Much can a Koala Bear? crowdfunding.sydney.edu.au project is seeking community funding to help with a world-first study into quantify the use of free water by koalas in the wild.
The University of Sydney project is based in Gunnedah and includes the use of Blinky Drinkers, water feeders designed to rest in trees for koalas.
Postdoctoral Research Associate Valentina Mella from the University of Sydney’s School of Life and Environmental Sciences said she was hoping to make others aware about the dire impact the heat was having on koalas.
