With new helmet standards set to be introduced nationwide in 2018, Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones said the initiative is a collaborative effort to ensure that all junior clubs play with the latest and safest in helmet technology.
Accordingly 1500 cricket helmets have been distributed to clubs across the state, built with a special StemGuard clip-on attachment that provides additional protection for a batman’s vulnerable neck.
“Ensuring the safety of our local teams is of the utmost importance,” Wayne Greenwood, Licensee of Gunnedah McDonald’s said.
“We are proud to be providing the local clubs with more helmets, encouraging more young Aussies to lead an active lifestyle through sport. We are looking forward to another safe and successful cricket season this year.”
