Unlike normal golf, there’s no chance to claw back into contention if a player has an indifferent hole.
The individual stableford competition sees the top 10 qualifiers – who progressed to the final following two rounds played earlier in the season – go up against each other.
They all tee off on the 10th hole and the player with the lowest stableford score for each hole is eliminated until a winner is declared following the 18th. Ties are decided by a nearest the pin chip off on each hole.
While a chip off wasn’t required on the 18th hole, with Baker taking out an outright victory on the last hole, it wasn’t plain sailing up to that point.
Baker was involved in a handful of chip offs on earlier holes in the final but made the clutch shots when needed.
While Baker took out the win, the podium places went to Lyn Pollock – who took out second place – and Nancye Farquhar – who finished in third.
