Bring your picnic basket and chair for a great afternoon of music as Andrew Clermont brings the “Apostle Tour” to Gunnedah for a short history of the western world of music.
In the case of wet weather, the concert will move to the Smithurst Theatre.
Known for convening the Supper Club at North Tamworth Bowling Club during the Tamworth Country Music Festival and a regular at the country’s leading folk festivals, Mr Clermont has also brought his music to Gunnedah on numerous occasions over the last 10 years.
The Apostle Tour: Peter, Paul & Andrew features Pete Fidler - dobro (slide guitar); Paul Wookey – renowned for his incredible Blues to early Country delivery; plus Mr Clermont’s fiery fiddle, mandolin and guitar.
Mr Clermont is a chameleon musician from Bluegrass to Indian, Scandinavian to Oldtime.
He has toured with the essence of US country music and rubbed shoulders with the cool of jazz and classical.
He is a three-time Bluegrass Champ and a director of the Golden Fiddle Awards in Australia.
Pete Fidler has been carving out a career as an in-demand musical sideman, known mainly for his dobro, or lap-style slide playing, but he also plays guitar, mandolin and banjo.
Paul Wookey is a gifted musician and possessor of one of the most acknowledged and diverse talents to have emerged in this country over the last two decades.
During this time Paul has shared the stage with and won accolades from a great many performers.
Although reasonably adept at an old country ballad, (Paul was a Golden Guitar winner at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 1981!), his first love was the blues and old 50s and 60s rock and roll. The free concert kicks off with your picnic from 2pm, with the Apostle Tour taking to the stage at 3pm.
