Dogs have been identified in the Gunnedah Koala Conservation Plan as a serious threat.
“Furthermore, attacks by dogs are expected to be more common during the breeding season when koalas are more active and moving through cleared areas,” the plan says.
It is currently koala breeding season. Try to keep dogs in a fenced area and if you are putting water down for koalas, keep it away from dogs. If you see dogs roaming, contact council.
