Court House batted first in the Gunnedah District Cricket Association two-day first grade clash and made it through 56 overs to post 130.
Kookaburra James McGowan (4-36) put Court House on the back foot at 3-24 as he claimed the first three wickets of the day.
Vinnie Winsor (1-28) chimed in with a wicket of his own before McGowan struck again to have Court House reeling at 5-51.
Ben Haire (29) and captain Farran Lamb (34) boosted the score before Anthony Daniels (23) Boyd McCormack (11) helped push the total along to 130.
Cameron Milne (2-12) and Luke Ellis (2-4) were also amongst the wickets for Kookaburras.
The plan for Kookaburras was to make it through the rest of the day without dropping a wicket.
Openers Cameron Milne and Tim Kelly almost achieved the feat.
The pair saw out the opening spells of Lamb (0-4) and Isaac Harris (0-11) – who both bowled seven overs each – but there was still a couple overs left to play.
Sam Doubleday (1-0) produced the late breakthrough to remove Milne (16).
By day’s end, Kookaburras were sitting at 1-20 with Kelly (3*) and Sam O'Gorman (0*) at the crease.
Kookaburras sit at 1-20 chasing 130 runs.
