Captain Mitchell Swain said everyone was pretty keen to take to the field against Armidale in Gunnedah but the visiting side forfeited the match.
Gunnedah District Cricket Association president Brad Gander received the call on Saturday
“I just got a call on Saturday morning saying Armidale won’t be able to play,” Gander said.
Gander said it was good to get the victory but it would have also been nice to see the representative side get out on the paddock.
“A win’s a win I suppose,” he said.
“It would have been good to get on the park. We were looking like fielding one of the strongest sides Gunnedah has fielded in a few years.”
Gunnedah is next scheduled to play against Narrabri in Narrabri on December 2.
