On Monday, the Bulldogs announced Campbell’s passing on their Facebook page. He had also played for Boggabri.
“We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family & friends of Boyde Campbell,” the Bulldogs said in the Facebook post.
“We send our love & strength to you all during this very sad time. Boyde will be remembered as an exceptional footballer, a wonderful young man, but most of all an incredible father to his 2 beautiful boys.
“So many lives have been touched by Boyde & he will be deeply missed by so many people. We remind everyone affected by this tragedy to support one another and talk about how you're feeling. It’s ok to not be ok!”
On Tuesday, the Bulldogs announced that in conjunction with the Boggabri Rugby League Football Club, former Dragons player Dan Hunt, an NRL mental health ambassador, would speak about mental health at Gunnedah Services & Bowling Club the following evening.
