After taking on the older competitors in 2015 and 2016 – where the Emerald Hill junior also came second – and coming so close to winning, it was no surprise Beccy won at this year’s event at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC).
Beccy took out the win by coming second in the hack pattern, first in the working pattern and first in the time trial.
Riding Doongara Power N Rose, Beccy not only took out the challenge but was also the overall highest scoring junior and won the 11 and under 13 years campdraft as she scored a 92.
Beccy’s form leading into the Inter-Schools Horse Extravaganza was just as incredible as her riding at the event.
In the first week of October, Beccy competed at the ASH National Youth Show and the ASH State Youth Show in Narrabri.
At both events, Beccy was too good for her opponents as she took out the challenge 11 and under 13 years at both events.
Tom has also been a busy rider of late.
The 14-year-old fared well at the Inter-Schools Horse Extravaganza.
Competing in the Working Horse Challenge for 13-15 years, Tom was in the mix when he won the working pattern section.
Unfortunately, Tom didn’t place in the other two sections but only missed out on the top spot by a couple points and managed to claim third.
