Donald Dundas was the Indigenous Apprentice of the Year at the 2017 NSW and ACT awards, held at Sydney’s Darling Harbour last week.
Mr Dundas, who is employed at Warrambungle Shire Council, has done the electorate proud according to Barwon MP Kevin Humphries.
“Donald is the current 2017 NSW Training Awards Indigenous Apprentice of the Year and an apprentice plumber who has excelled at his trade and completed his apprenticeship over three years,” Mr Humphries said.
“He prides himself on quality work and being a leader in his community. He has worked with local youth in boxing and sees himself as a role model for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth. He’s also a natural leader and proud family man.”
Mr Humphries said 78 percent of VET graduates gain employment after training compared to 69 percent of university graduates.
