There are still plenty of books on the sales tables, with new material added each week. Do a good deed and save a book; the money raised goes towards the purchase of new titles.
New titles ready to read
Plenty of new books have been added to the shelves, including: The Missing Pieces Of Us by Australian author Fleur McDonald and the latest thriller by Val McDermid, Insidious Intent, featuring Tony Hill and Carol Jordan.
There’s also a romance novel by Susan Mallery called Secrets of the Tulip Sisters, a captivating new novel about the problem with secrets, the power of love, and the bond between sisters; and a book of short stories by Daphne du Maurier, The Birds and Other Short Stories.
The Birds were immortalised by Hitchcock in his film and the other five chilling stories in this collection “echo a sense of dislocation and mock man’s sense of dominance over the natural world”.
On a more quirky note, two new books by Lynley Dodd, famous for her Hairy Maclary and Slinky Malinky books, have been added to the picture book collection.
Be delighted and amused at the antics of Schnitzel von Krumm in Basketwork and Zachary Quack in Minimonster – these are books for the young and for the young at heart.
All these books are ready to be checked out and enjoyed. See you soon at the Gunnedah Library.
