Earning 16 caps before switching codes and joining Eastern Suburbs, Papworth will be the special guest at the Gunnedah Red Devil’s annual Sportsman’s lunch on October 13.
The current Eastwood president, Papworth is also a regular on Talkin’ Sport.
“We’re looking forward to hearing Brett talk on where rugby is situated at the moment,” Red Devils’ president Bruce Hockings said.
He said anyone is welcome. Tickets are $80 and include canapes and lunch, and can be purchased from Hennessy Real Estate.
Olivia O’Donnell, Eliza O’Donnell, Elly Byriell and Jonathon Morrison will meanwhile represent Central North at this weekend’s U13 and U15’s State Sevens Championships at Coffs Harbour. The two O’Donnell girls will play for the Kookaburras 13’s girls, Bryiell the 15’s girls and Morrison the 15’s boys.
