Valuables have been stolen from cars across most parts of town, mainly after dark.
“On most occasions they're occurring at residential premises where vehicles are parked in the driveway or outside a residence,” Oxley Inspector Michael Wurth said.
They would appear to be opportunistic with offenders being able to see property from outside the car.

“They would appear to be opportunistic with offenders being able to see property from outside the car.”
Inspector Wurth said the warmer weather and complacency were to blame for the spike over the first.
“We would remind residents to please ensure they do lock their vehicles and any valuables inside the vehicle are taken inside,” he said.
“And we encourage anyone to report any offences so we know where they're happening, so police can be tasked in those areas in particular to patrol.
“We would also urge community members to report suspicious activity to police.”
