The Gunnedah Junior Cricket Association caters for cricketers aged four right up to 16.
Milo In-2-Cricket is for 4-8-year-olds who have not played any form of cricket before or are of a low skill level.
All participants receive a player pack with a kit provided at the sessions as well. Coaches take the kids through drills and teach the basics. Cost per child is $75.
Milo T20 Blast is for kids aged 7-11 and is a structured format of drills and games to further develop our young cricketers with our energetic coaches.
Kits are provided and games are not played on a typical pitch. All players receive a player pack.
Some parental involvement is required to make the programme successful. Cost per child is $110.
From there, kids step up into the junior cricket aged categories.
There is under 12s, under 14s and under 16s which have all adopted the Australian junior formats.
This year will see smaller boundaries and pitch lengths, depending on age, and reduced number of players per teams. This is to encourage scoring runs and reducing no balls and wides by allowing players to naturally develop their cricket skills as they grow.
Cost is $75 for first child, $50 for second and $0 for the third and subsequent in the same family (this fee reduction does not apply to the two Milo programmes).
