The group relished the opportunity to interact and network with other youth councils from around NSW.
Adam Carpenter a member of the youth council said “It was a once in a lifetime experience, it was amazing.
Getting to know other youth council members and share with them your youth council experience’s was terrific,” Mr Carpenter said.
A highlight of many of the members of the youth council was a boat cruise around Sydney Harbour and a visit to Sydney’s attractions.
“It went for about five hours, it did include all of Sydney’s coolest attractions though,” youth council member Aiden R de Luzuriaga said.
The conference was a healthy blend of fun, games and knowledge sharing between different youth councils.
Gunnedah Shire Council’s youth development officer Sewa Emojong said the whole conference was inspiring.
“You can’t help but be inspired when you see so many young people interacting for change.
Everyone there got to share their experiences from youth council and what issues the community are facing,” Ms Emojong said.
The youth council is now preparing for a dessert pop-up bar event to raise funds.
