The funds were raised during AgQuip, with donations coming from locals and visitors alike.
Plains Pipes and Drums member, Heather Martin, said everyone was happy to give to such a worthy cause.
“We recognise just how important this service is to people in rural and regional areas,” Mrs Martin said.
“Anyone of us could be in need of this service on any given day.
“It’s a vital service.”
Representatives from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service received the donation at the St Andrew’s Flower Show recently.
The announcement of the donation follows the unveiling of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s base upgrade in Tamworth.
