RDA members and visitors gathered in the Gunnedah Band Hall to mark 30 years of providing riding and carriage driving sessions for children and adults with special needs.
Among the party-goers were some of the founding members of the Gunnedah RDA, including Barbara Lightfoot and Ruth Pope, who cut the celebratory cake. The cake was made by Marj Hill.
A number of moving speeches were made, with Ms Lightfoot and Ms Pope recalling the early days of the branch, and Jean Clark sharing 30 years of its history. Former principal of GS Kidd Memorial School, Heather Welch, also took to the stand and spoke about the sessions’ wonderful effects on children with special needs.
