Crowds will converge on the cultural event at the Gunnedah Bicentennial Creative Arts Gallery from 6pm to view almost 300 works.
The exhibition will be opened by Eric Groth who will also announce the winners.
Arts Gunnedah members Shirley Urquhart and Eileen Mair said they were looking forward to a successful opening.
This year, the exhibition has drawn artists from Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale, Inverell, Manilla, Quirindi, Narrabri, Buderim, Victoria, Wollongong and the Central Coast.
There is a great variety in the art and ceramic works, featuring a mixture of modern, traditional and creative pieces.
Ceramics judge Barbara Dolahenty and art judge Rowen Matthews examined the works today to determine winners.
Mr Matthews is a new addition to the judging panel, and recently moved into the historic Kickerbell homestead.
The art grand champion will receive $1200, and the ceramics grand champion will receive $600. The entrant who wins the people’s choice award for art will be given $200.
The exhibition will be on display until September 3.
