The 2016 champion leads the overall standings heading into the final two rounds, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
Streater fired 143 in the opening two rounds, incidentally the same score he recorded in the corresponding rounds last year, to sit five shots clear of Shane Wilson (148). Troy Dries is another five shots back on 153.
Gunnedah Golf Club prop Luke Ryan had before the championships identified those three as the red hot chances.
Dries finished runner-up to Streater last year, after coming back from three strokes back to break Streater’s eight year reign the previous year. Rory Heath leads Division 2, Andy O’Connell Division 3 and Stuart Bray Division 4.
