If you want to start something new, the library has a great section on health, well-being and exercise books and DVDs to start you on your new regime. Included in the books are Make it Lighter: Healthier Versions of your Favourite Recipes: All the taste – none of the guilt. It’s packed with easy to follow directions, handy hints and mouth-watering photos.
If you’re thinking of taking a spring trip, try our talking books – we have a great collection by popular authors, and also old favourites. Just added to the collection are: The Mystery of Swordfish Reef by Arthur Upfield, and a thriller by Jason Matthews, Palace of Treason.
Many of our newer talking books are now in MP3 format, as the whole book can fit onto one disk, rather than several, so they take less room on the shelves. If you don’t have an MP3 compatible player at home, you can borrow one from the library – just ask the staff for information about how you can do this.
Don’t forget, the library has Toddler Time every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.30am, with stories and a simple handicraft, Brian Training at the Library on Mondays at 10.30am and 3.30pm, and Junior Brain Games, an after school activity, every Wednesday afternoon at 3.30pm. Just come along and enjoy!
Library events to look forward to are eSmart Library Week from September 4-8 where the emphasis of all our programs will be on cyber safety.
We will also be having our Big Spring Book Sale in September, and donations are welcome if you are spring cleaning! Declutter and donate and know that the books will find a good home with other book lovers!
See you soon at the library!
