Owner Karen Carter said the team provided medicines to the community, healthcare advice, medicine checks, beauty therapy, cosmetics and sleep apnoea equipment.
She said she enjoys being a being a pharmacist and helping people.
“It’s great being able to help people of all ages young and old, and provide healthcare advice,” she said.
“We talk to people about their medicines and health, help young pharmacy students and interns with training.”
Karen Carter Chemist provides health services such as screening for diabetes, sleep apnoea testing, weight loss services, and also offers lots of products such as a wide range of french fragrance, Lóccutane, Clarins, Kora Organics, Revlon and Maybelline cosmetics.
There’s a large range of giftware and handbags, as well as living aids such as walkers from Making Life Easy.
Ahead in the pharmacy industry Ms Carter said there were always new medicines being released.
“So keeping up to date with the latest technology and training young pharmacists is important,” she said.
At the moment the pharmacy is running free diabetes screening for people aged 35 to 74 years in conjunction with the University of Sydney to assess people’s risk of developing diabetes.
