Olivia heard about the workshop when it was announced at the stage 3 assembly, and because she had lots of family to stay with in Sydney, her parents were happy to apply for the workshop.
There was lots of interest in the workshop, and Olivia was thrilled to be offered a place in the second round. Olivia spent three days at the Sydney Dance Company at Walsh Bay.
There were students from public schools all over Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Newcastle.
For three days, they just danced across the styles of musical theatre, jazz, composition, hip hop, Afro jazz, Bollywood and contemporary.
The dance tutors were some of the best in their field.
Olivia would encourage public school students to look out for future workshops and apply because it is a great way to learn new skills and meet other students who share your love of dance.
