Gunnedah will host the final regular round of the Regional League with the under 17s taking part in division three.
Round one saw Gunnedah score two wins followed by three wins in the second round and the girls will be searching for more this weekend.
“For the first carnival, being a newly formed team, they were getting used to each other but performed well and they know they have to be strong and consistent in every game which they did better in the second carnival,” coach Nerieda Ewington said.
Tamworth is the side to beat with an unbeaten record.
Gunnedah has came close to Tamworth but just fallen short. However, over the past fortnight, the netballers have focused on defence which will enhance their chances.
Along with the defensive side of things improving, a few players will return to the side and Ewington said anything was possible on Sunday.
“This is the last round before finals and as there are four teams in our division, everyone has a good chance on the day to upset even the top team,” she said.
“We have had an injury and unavailabilities but this week we hope to be at full strength .”
The team also has an award winner in its ranks after Bella Gallagher took out the dedication award at the NIAS awards for her hard work on the court and time spent off it coaching an 11-12s team in Gunnedah.
