It was a huge success and members Pat Hobson, Judy Mitchell and Judy Keating cut the official cake.
Special guests at the gathering included zone councillor Barbara Hyslop, national councillor Beryl Pike and visitors from the Narrabri and Coonabarrabran clubs.
Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey also attended the celebratory luncheon and said he was very proud of the club and the members who received their service pins.
Pat Hobson, Judy Keating and Joy Pearson received pins for 40 years of membership. Judith Gimbert received a pin for 30 years, Janet Fearby for 20 years and Judy Cooper for 10 years.
New member Judy Mitchell was inducted by the councillors. They also spoke about the VIEW National Convention in September.
The convention will be held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment & Conference Centre (TRECC) in Tamworth from September 15-17.
Lucky door was won by all in atttendance. Raffle winners were Corrine Carter and Judy Cooper.
The August luncheon will be held on Friday, August 25. Guest speaker is Gunnedah Shire Council’s arts and cultural officer, Lauren Mackley.
The club will hold a fundraising event on September 10, with a screening of Paris Can Wait at The Civic Theatre. Movie-goers are asked to arrive at 2.15pm for a 3pm screening. Tickets are $18.
