The date marks what would have been the Gunnedah girl’s 23rd birthday. Maddie lost her battle with depression in March 2016.
Maddie’s Big Blue Bash will be held in the Woolworths car park from 9am, with a cake stall, raffle, 100 club and a sausage sizzle.
Raffle tickets are $2 each, with prizes including dinner vouchers for the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club, a produce tray from Woolworths, and a voucher for Hair By Kristina.
The fundraiser will be hosted by the Smith family and Woolworths for a second year. Maddie’s mother, Vicki, is a long-term employee of Woolworths and wants funds to be keep within the area to provide much-needed resources for those suffering from mental illness. In 2016, almost $2000 was raised for beyondblue.
The Smith family is asking the community to turn out and show its support for the event in honour of Maddie.
beyondblue is available for immediate support on 1300 22 4636.
