Gunnedah Tennis Club’s Craig Louis predicted the club’s adoption of the new interactive software program called Instacomp was going to be a game-changer and the tennis coach wasn’t disappointed.

“It has [been a game-changer],” Louis said.
“It’s been good, I think it’ll grow even more, we’re just waiting for the warmer months to see its full potential as the colder weather sees numbers drop a little.
“We’ve had some really good feedback from a lot of parents and kids.”
One worry Louis had leading into the trial was people failing to show up more often than not because they weren’t locked in for a whole tournament.
However, the opposite occurred with new players rocking up from time to time.
“For the adults, there has been a few people in town for one of two weeks who really like tennis, they’d put their name into the instacomp, go out on court and have a hit,” Louis said.
“And everyone gets to play with so many different players, everyone’s always keen to see who they get to play with.
“It adds a bit more excitement.”
The first trial of the instacomp program just wrapped up with winners announced earlier this week.
In the senior competition, Josh Henderson took out the singles while Ian Lynch was crowned the doubles champion.
The juniors saw Katie Spinks win division three, Peter McCormack took out division two and Isabelle Moore took out the division one crown.
The Gunnedah Tennis Club has a busy period approaching with a number of tournaments in the upcoming months.
Next up on the calendar is the Country Championships.
The championships will be held in Forster starting on July 7 with a large group of Gunnedah players to compete.
Two junior development series tournaments and the club championships are also fast approaching.
