Gunnedah’s Tyson Hubbard, a Year 10 student at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in Tamworth, is an up-and-coming singer who has recently had a very successful run in the Tamworth Eisteddfod.
He competed in four sections and came away with three firsts and a second in the vocal section for 18 years and under.
Tyson sang four solos: Sea Fever, Supermarket Flowers, Empty Chairs and Empty Tables and She never told her love.
Tyson has previously taken part in Capers, Schools Spectacular and several singing camps and competitions.
In November, he was chosen for a second year from a pool of 75 students for Schools Spectacular from the North-West following a vocal camp in May at Lake Keepit.
He was one of about 12 students chosen for the central core choir.
The central core choir was conducted by none other than former Gunnedah man Jerome Studdy, a St Mary’s College student.
