Dale Higgerson from the Department of Fair Trading in Tamworth was invited as guest speaker to give club members the ins and outs of popular scams.
“He spoke how these about how these scammers work and how to avoid being scammed,” a club spokeswoman said.
“He was very knowledgeable and gave out interesting ideas.”
Club member Rosemary Sinclair presented Mr Higgerson with a gift and thanked him for his time and information.
This month’s raffle winners were Charmain Johnson and Judy Cooper.
On July 28 from 11am, the club will be holding its 44th birthday luncheon, with eight members to be awarded with badges for the time and effort they have devoted to the club, with some marking over 40 years of service.
Members are asked to provide a lucky door prize on the day.
