Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said the project will help create a more efficient and productive road network for the shire.
“The NSW government is committed to funding road and bridge projects that provide better connections between local roads to state highways and key freight hubs, and so we are proud to have funded this $141,000 project.”
This project involved level 2 and level 3 assessments of bridges across the region to test whether they could support heavier vehicles.
“Freight is worth $60 billion to the NSW economy, and so we want to ensure that regional areas have the necessary infrastructure to allow this industry to continue growing,” he said.
“This project will enable B-Double trucks to transport freight across the area, allowing local industries to increase their freight volume and cut their transport costs.”
These bridge assessments were managed by GSC.
