The 49th Keepit Kool Regatta was hosted by Lake Keepit Sailing Club over the June long weekend.
With 50 boats nominating, sailing was competitive in all four classes.
A brisk breeze from the south east, combined with occasional showers on the first two days of the competition, provided exhilarating conditions for sailors visiting from the east coast.
Teams from Brisbane south to Jervis Bay and Lake Macquarie made the trip for the event.
In contrast, Monday morning dawned overcast, with just a zephyr of a breeze to test the light weather skills.
It was just enough to complete the full program of six races.
Former Gunnedah man Brett White – who now competes for the Great Lakes Sailing Club – with his young crew Bailey Hord, who hails from the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club, were named Regatta Champions as they sailed a Hobie Wild Cat catamaran.
Brett and Bailey just edged out winners of the Monohull division, Kevin Cook and Mick Pilgrim, who sailed a Corsair dinghy from Budgewoi Sailing Club.
The Trailerable Yacht division was won by Geoff Adams from RMYC Toronto sailing a Diamond and the Sportsboat division was won by Paul Sharp and his crew also from RMYC Toronto sailing a JS30.
Lake Keepit Sailing Club sailor Matt Whiteman from Tamworth came in third in the Monohull Fleet.
