A Gunnedah man has been charged with assault after an alleged domestic violence incident.

Police allege the 40-year-old male assaulted a family member at their home on Thursday, June 8, with the matter reported to police the next day.
The man was arrested and charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and was served with a Police Issued Apprehended Violence Order.
He was released on conditional bail and will appear at Gunnedah Local Court on July 4.
Gunnedah Police would like to remind residents that domestic violence will not be tolerated and police “will take action whenever and wherever they can”. They said violence is “not a sign of love or affection and is not a normal part of a relationship”.
