GJC president Kevin Edmonds said losing Sunday’s Cup meeting “cost the club lots of money”.
The meeting was postponed on Sunday morning after overnight rain on Saturday left the track unsafe to race on.
Edmonds hopes Racing NSW can find his club another race date.
“Mark (club secretary manager Mark Storey) has been talking to Racing NSW,” he said.
“We haven’t heard (of any decision) yet.”
Originally Racing NSW offered to add an extra race (Gunnedah Cup) to the July Curlewis Cup meeting but that is a Friday meeting and would be difficult to draw any sort of crowd.
Edmunds hopes his club might be given a Saturday or Sunday on the June long weekend.
Racing in the HNWRA that weekend is restricted to a Muswellbrook TAB meeting on the Friday (June 9) and Mallawa Picnics (Saturday June 10) with no meetings on the Sunday (June 11) or Monday (June 12).
