That was an area of the side’s play that Waerea was not happy with in their last-round 13-5 away loss to Walcha.
“Lineouts had been a key in previous games,” he said. “We weren’t accurate on the throw against Walcha.
“So we’ve got some fine tuning to do there and to get the set piece possession back where it needs to be.”
Waerea was happy with the overall effort against Walcha.
But he said the team’s error rate contributed to missed opportunities in the green zone.
“However, sometimes the errors can be attributed to good pressure from the opposition, so credit where it’s due,” he added.
Waerea said the Red Devils’ pack held their own in the loose and scrum set pieces as expected against Walcha.
“We expect Inverell will be physical,” he said.
“I believe we can match that game.”
